Twisted Titanicus on Tour: Beachhead 2024 Recap - Day 1 10.02.2024

On the weekend of the 10th & 11th February, Team Twisted headed down to Bournemouth to throw down at Maximal Fire’s Team Event at Beachhead 2024.

The event format was 5 games at 1750pts matched play with cumulative team scores being used to determine the main winners, along with individual scores to determine the overall individual placings. Teams were made up of 3 players, so naturally we turned up with two.

  • Twisted Sword, comprised of Jim (Team Captain), Frazer & Jake

  • Twisted Spear, comprised of Jay (Team Captain), Alex and Simon.

With six of us in the mix, and two teams we were in with a shout of hopefully getting some silverware at the end of the weekend.

Here’s how we fared on Day 1.

Twisted Sword

Jim

After travelling down with Frazer on the Friday and helping Alex and the Maximal Fire team get set up at the BIC, the Friday evening at the AirBnB descended into a haze of booze and shenanigans thanks to the guys from Battle Bling, Siren Studios and South Wales AT (big shout out to Duggie for playing Cocktail Master all night!). But I was up early on the Saturday (partly due to excitement and partly due to a moderately uncomfortable bed) and put my head together with Frazer over several strong coffees for a little pre-event strategy session.

We knew what all the deployment maps were going to be for the weekend as they were listed in the pack, along with the freedom to pick our missions as we saw fit to give us the best chance of success.

For this event I was rocking my brand new Legio Ignatum force, made up of a demi-Arcus and demi-Venator. My test games leading up to the event had gone well so I was feeling pretty confident with the list. For my traits I went with Favoured by Fortune on my Warbringer and Foe Slayer on my Reaver.

Game 1

Game 1 was a “find yourself a partner” affair and I ended up against the lovely Sarah from Siren Studios and her Legio Venator Reaver Extergimus & Ferrox list. The last time I played against this list was at the Maximal Fire summer event back in July 2023 and it was unchanged so I knew to keep an eye out for the sneaky Vortex Missile that would be heading my way at some point.

Sarah & Jim

The deployment for this round was Fortified Position. Mission-wise, I opted to go for Asset Protection for my Primary and Deny Them for my Secondary.

We got set up and started playing. I had grouped my objective markers as best I could in line with the mission parameter for Asset Protection and castled up. For Deny Them I’d chosen my Warbringer and the double swarmer missile Warhound to try and keep alive.

A Turn 1 Vortex volley headed my way but luckily only did 3 pips of damage spread over 2 Warhounds before dissipating at the end of Turn 3. I systematically deleted Sarah’s titans over the course of the game (sorry Sar! 😬) and carved out a solid win for Game 1. I was off and running!

Result: Win 40/0

Game 2

For Game 2 I was paired up against Janne Niinivaara representing Team Empyrean Union (who had travelled all the way from Finland to take part) and his Legio Damicium Regia.

Deployment for this round was Staggered Front. Mission-wise I went for Seize the Quadrants for my Primary and Glory & Honour for my Secondary.

This game was my Kobayashi Maru. I made no tactical mistakes, yet apparently Nuffle saw fit to punish me for tabling Sarah in Game 1 (sorry again Sar! 😬).

Janne's Damicium face off against Jim's Ignatum

It soon became apparent that I was not going to make many saves or crucial rolls and Janne took full advantage of that fact. Mercifully it was over quickly, and I succumbed to a 40/5 loss, with my only points coming from killing one of my secondary Glory & Honour targets and popping A Score to Settle at the end of the game.

Result: Loss 5/40

Game 3

For Game 3 I was drawn against Duggie from Y Princeps Cyntaf, and his shiny new Legio Kulisætai Regia (with accelerated autoloaders. Yay!...) and a good old Line of Battle deployment. For my missions I chose Defend & Extract as my Primary and Priority Assignment for my Secondary.

This was a great game, with a lot of cat & mouse antics for the first few turns before I started to press up. I’d fully secured my Primary mission by the end of Turn 3, but maxing my Secondary was looking a bit iffy.

That was until my MVP for the game (as-yet unnamed Warhound #2) executed a perfect flying headbutt into one of Duggie’s Warlords whilst on a charge, paving the way for itself to deliver the Coup de Grace in the following combat phase and making the Warlord go nuclear! Cue cascade detonations and all the usual AT hilarity. Game 3 was in the bag!

Result: Win 40/9

After Day 1, I was looking pretty good with 2 solid wins under my belt and avoiding the dreaded nilling. Hopefully I could keep the momentum going in Day 2.

Jake

For my list I took a Tritonis double Ferrox and swapped one of the Reavers for a Volcano/Grav Warlord Titan. My other Ferrox was headed by a Reaver with Leader of Arachnus so that I could double tap Stygian Veil.

The plan was to try and block of parts of the enemy battle group and then focus down what was visible. A solid plan and would hopefully even the odds against all the Psi Titans I would be facing. Spoiler Alert, there was only a single Psi Titan at the entire event…

Getting to pick any Primary and Secondary Objective combo was a bit of a surprise for me so I hastily wrote down some combos on day one before we left for the BIC, they probably could have been better with some more thought but hey-ho, I’m here to make things blow up, not stand around the board!

Game 1

Game one we had to find an opponent to play against, I bumped into Dan from the Titan Boners Club team (great name and got some cool stickers too!). He was running a Legio Vulturum double Lupercal list with Secure and Hold and Glory & Honour vs my Seize the Quadrants and Glory & Honour.

Sadly, my eagerness to use Stygian Veil probably counted against me here as Dan’s rapid Warhounds could dart between the clouds stopping me from being able to shoot him until he was in my face and causing damage with the Ursus Claws. A learning experience to be sure!

Result: Loss 4/40

Game 2

The second round saw me play against Russell and his Interfector Corsair Maniple. I had never seen Interfector in action before, so I was excited to see the madness kick off.

Unfortunately, his melee focused list didn’t survive long enough to close the distance and a cheeky Vox Blackout in round 4 stopped what would have been a game winning set of charges. I scored max points on my Primary, Asset Protection and Russell on managed to kill one Warhound meaning I got 15 points for the secondary, Stand Tall.

Result: Win 40/9

Game 3:

When Marnix showed up with his Infernus Extergimus I was quietly confident. A low number of slow engines seemed like a perfect target for Stygian Veil, right? I bet it would be hard for him to get line of sight to anything I didn’t want him to, in fact it was super easy, barely an inconvenience. I was rudely introduced to Burned Ones which removed terrain between my carefully placed Veils at which point my Warhounds crumbled under the Warlord's guns. I did manage to score a few points on Secure and Hold and Priority Assignment but the clear winner was Marnix who maxed Asset Protection and Stand Tall.

Result: Loss 14/40

So Day 1 was a bit of a mixed bag for me. All the games were fun but nothing went as I had hoped. In fact my only win of the day didn’t even involve Stygian Veil! Just like the old saying “no plan survives contact with the enemy”. Not to worry, Day 2 could be a relaxed couple of games with time to chat and experiment while I rethought my list for the next event.

Frazer

5:30am Day 1 and I’m poring over the event pack, I selected the missions best suited to my list and the deployment maps. Selections made I felt nervous but ready to face the day.

The list for the weekend was a Legio Metalica 3 Reaver Corsair and a 3 Warhound Lupercal. My goal for the weekend was to win at least 2 games, here’s how it went…

Game 1

Game 1 we needed to find an opponent to play and I faced off against Duggie and his Legio Kulisætai Regia. (The same list I faced a few weeks earlier at Board in Brum). I opted for Defend and Extract and A Matter of Honour for my objectives.

Duggie & Frazer

After deploying our titans and I had placed my objectives we began our battle.

I’m doing really well and manage to hold my objectives and move them in the end phases of the first few rounds. I get a secondary score as I manage to kill the selected Warhound with my Red-headed Warhound however, facing off against shield sharing Warhounds and Warlords isn’t easy and I’m struggling to kill the selected Warlord.

Duggie does amazing and his autoloaders on the Warlords decimate my shields and leave me open for the killing shots. By the time I’m in a position to do anything; it’s the end of Turn 5 and game over. Duggie managed to shoot me off my objectives meaning I couldn’t score any primary points.

Result: Loss 6/40

Game 2

In Game 2 I drew Chris and his Gryphonicus Axiom. I chose Salt the Earth for my Primary and Priority Assignment for my Secondary.

I gave Chris my objective to place in his deployment zone and we rolled off to begin. From the start I felt sorry for Chris, we all have one of those games where the Dice Gods are on your side and for me, this was it. It seemed like every shot I made hit and every save I needed was made. Chris on the other hand had his dice desert him. By Turn 2 I had pushed up and claimed my objective scoring max 25vp and now it was time to concentrate on killing my targets.

By the end of Turn 3 Chris only had 1 titan left and in the movement phase of Turn 4 I first fired what I could into the last titan and destroyed it.

Result: Win 40/0

Game 3

Game 3 I drew Chris W and his Fureans Regia. I opted to go for Asset Protection and Stand Tall for my missions.

Objectives were placed and Titans deployed and Chris and I faced off. Once again, the power of the Regia came into play and I struggled to do damage as the shield sharing capabilities are nothing to sniff at. I manage to tuck away my objectives and can keep my titans hidden enough that Chris can’t see them to shoot and I score max on primary. Unlucky for me I lose my Warhounds and a Reaver which means my Secondary mission only scores me 5vp. Chris on the other hand manages to max both of his missions.

Result: Loss 30/40

End of day 1 and I’ve managed a win and tried to get some points on the board scoring on the more difficult missions. Day 2’s plans are to play the “easier” missions and try to score more points and go for my 2nd win, maybe a 3rd.

Twisted Spear

Jay

Having travelled down the day before with Alex and having helped set up tables, we met up at the 5-Guys for some of the pre-Beachhead festivities. It was good to spend a little time with the community away from the tables and I like to be able to put names (and accents) to faces as it can go a long way to helping me understand where someone might be coming from on the various fora and discords around the hobby.

We moved on to the local Wetherspoons and chatted some more before making our way back to the Moroccan-Themed sauna I had ended up securing for our weekend.

What followed was an abysmal attempt at sleep, interrupted in part by pre-tournament anxiety but mostly down to the rats in the walls and some enterprising persons loudly selling wares of one type or another that were certainly not legal or sanitary just below the apartment.

After coffee and a walk, Alex and I found Simon and got to queuing for the short wait until we were allowed in. Before I knew it, Round 1 was open and I found myself a table to wait for an opponent to arrive.

Game 1

I felt it best to wait for someone else to choose to face me as I had taken a very competitive (read as: oppressively powerful headache-inducing - fit to see a table only at the most competitive events) list with a Gryphonicus Ferrox, all Reavers with Sub Motive Reactors, and a Psi Titan. Oh, and a Vortex Missile because Simon recommended it and frankly, if you are running the rest of it, you can only be damned once...

As it was, my first opponent was Emma and her awesome Custom Legio. I enjoy the fact that Emma has spent a decent amount of time figuring out the lore for her Legio and her list and even playstyle reflect that. When Emma explained she had only played 6 or 7 games of AT before this event, I asked if she was sure she wanted to play this table - my list was NOT friendly and I'm certainly not a new player.

With a brilliant composure, Emma said she was sure and we set to the game - I didn't know if it was bravery or madness, possibly both, but I immediately respected and liked Emma.

Emma's Custom Legio faces off against Jay's Gryphonicus

I took Salt the Earth - largely because I wanted to get it out of the way - and Glory & Honour as a Secondary. Emma took Seize the Quadrants and Stand Tall.

As the last turn rolled around, Emma's last titan was destroyed and she philosophically reflected that it fit her Legio’s lore as that element of it had been decimated. Anyone that can be tabled 40-0 and still remain that positive and have had a genuinely enjoyable game is a huge part of why I love the AT community.

Result: Win 40/0

Game 2

As the draw for game 2 was announced, I was pleased to hear I had drawn Stu. For those that aren't aware, Stu is largely regarded (for good reason) as the best AT player in the UK (probably the world) with the most competitive event wins and a mind that can take just about any Legio or Maniple and find a way to build a list that not just works, but sings.

I'd wanted to play Stu for a long time, but we hadn't drawn each other at previous events. Stu had an absolutely insane Defensor Extergimus list that, given license, could throw out 100 Apocalypse Missile shots before the end of Turn 1. Suffice to say I did NOT feel particularly bad about my list with this opponent.

We both took Hold the Line as our Primary - I was fairly comfortable that I could kill his only Warhound and the Warlords were too slow to give much odds of getting to my table edge if I could Quake them for a turn or 2. Stu took Stand Tall and I took Priority Assignment.

The firepower of Stu’s list was insane - I opened with Vox Blackout. Stu played to maximise the generous cover of his deployment. I collided two of his Warlords with an Antipathic Tempest - with little damage done - and followed up with the Vortex Missile that succeeded in disabling one of his Warlord’s carapace missiles.

As the turns moved on, Stu’s canny use of Forward Observers and cover kept his incoming damage manageable but my engines were falling. I eventually managed to get my Princeps into position for him to use his trait, Reckless Maverick, to re-activate and jump into Stu’s deployment and behind one of his Warlords.

As the combat phase began I was able to crippled and then kill the Warlord - 10vp - only for it to take my Princeps down with it! I wouldn't be denying Stu his Hold the Line it seemed.

Stu eventually finished off my Psi Titan and was left in control of the table with 2 Warlord Titans that were end of track damaged and feeling worse for wear. Was it enough?

Whilst we initially thought we'd played to a draw, when we calculated Stu’s surviving points (half for end of tracked titans) he was below the threshold to score 10 and only managed 5.

Result: Win 35/30

Game 3

To say I went into Game 3 in a bit of a daze is an understatement. I drew Gareth and his Laniaskara Ruptura. A Legio and Maniple I am MORE than familiar with, it is one of my favourites to play but only at higher point games.

I took Honour Thy Forebears and Deny Them. Gareth took Hold the Line and Matter of Honour.

The dice were not in Gareth’s favour and once his titans were Quaked into a crawl, I was able to pick them off one by one.

He did take my Princeps down in the immense explosions set off by his Warbringers - denying me 10vp - but the Psi Titan’s enhanced Strength vs his Corrupted titans meant those that weren't outright killed were crippled.

The smoke settled and Gareth’s titans were all destroyed.

Result: Win 30/0

Day 1 had started off well and every game had gone according to plan - the amount of preparation no longer felt excessive or wasted, it was paying off.

Alex

Beachhead is the biggest tournament I have yet to attend, and my first one that took place over 2 days, so I was nervous as we arrived on Saturday. I decided to give myself some aims for the weekend, so if all went to pot I could still feel like I achieved something. I wanted to come away with 2 wins, to see if I could kill something with a charge every game and to see if I could surprise someone with the movement of a corrupted Astorum hound. And maybe avoid scoring 0 points in a game. For this event I decided to run a Traitor Astorum list with double Ferrox.

The first round was a free for all, with everyone selecting their first opponent. I picked a free table, and waited for the fun to begin.

Game 1

Game 1 was against Mark, from the Titan Boners Club ( a fantastic team name) and his Legio Presaegius. He had brought 2 minimum sized maniples, a Mandatum and a Venator. A Legio I had never faced on the table top before, I knew that their strength was going to be range, so I needed to close that as fast as possible. Mission-wise I took Push Forwards and Priority Assignment.

Unfortunately, Mark seemed to have magnetised his titans for this game, in that everytime something fell over it fell into one of his models! Being so fast allowed me to easily get up to Mark’s edge quickly, taking down most of his titans in the meantime.

My Warhounds were the star of the show in this game - the corrupted ones managed to get quite a few kills, but unfortunately they were unable to kill Mark’s Reaver before they died, leaving him free to run toward my battlefield edge and deny me full points for my primary objective.

"Canis" and "War Geld" achieved great things, with "War Geld" finishing both the Warlord and the remaining Warhound with swarmer missiles. A tough but successful first game

Result: Win 25/15

Game 2

Game 2 was versus Jamie and his Tempestus Fortis. Having played against Jay’s Tempestus, I'd like to say I remembered to not kill his titans from their front arc-but I failed completely at this. For my Primary I went with Honour thy Forebears and my Secondary I chose Glory & Honour.

This game went a lot faster-using Dawn Attack and placing a Reaver in clear view of his Warlord to bait Jamie to move forward and bring his weapons (gatlings and Sunfury’s) into range. As soon as he did, I charged with the use of Unbridled Hatred and took out the Warlord turn one. Corrupted melee titans are mean.

Jamie then spent the rest of the game focusing his fire on this one Reaver, as he was one of his secondary targets. His other warlord did quite a bit of damage, before my flanking Warhounds took him down. He also charged him with one of his Reavers, nearly getting the kill. However, before he could I used Dominant Strategist to take initiative and kill him first. The other Reaver managed to get into his Rear and take him down, but was then promptly taken out by the end of turn 3.

Result: Win 40/7

Game 3

Game 3 was against Grant and his Metalica, a Venator maniple with a support Warlord and banner of Cerastus Lancers. I opted for Salt the Earth and Engage & Destroy for my missions.

With corrupted Astroum scoring the primary on turn one was relatively easy (required as by this point I was starting to feel the tiredness setting in). Using War Lust and full striding an Astorum Warhound, with Unbridled Hatred, gives a range of 38 inches in one turn. Putting a Concealment Barrage right next to the objective marker, works to keep the Warhound safe until the end of the turn; 25 points in the bag.

However, Metallica Venators are mean, getting to activate 2 engines in a row for two heat enabled Grant to kill one of my hounds Turn 1.

The downside of this is he then started seeing his engines cooking themselves off. This included a glorious incident where one exploded, taking his buddy with him as well. With a few charges from me (and a PBG wiping out his lancer banner in one shot) by the end of turn 5 he had almost nothing left on the board, giving me full points for the second game in a row.

Result: Win 40/8

So Day 1 had exceeded my expectations- I had come out of it with 3 wins and was keeping to my target of charging and killing something every turn. As a team we started Sunday at the top of the leaderboard-all three of us had won all of our games on the first day (I believe the only team to do so) which meant not only would we be facing tougher games, but we were the team to beat. No pressure then.

Simon

I travelled down to Bournemouth for Beachhead on the Friday before so I could be well rested prior to the event. I also decided to take the train down, which almost miraculously were all running to time!

I was also meeting up with a chap that had flown in from Sweden for Beachhead. Once I got into Waterloo, he was incredibly easy to find in a station where there’s a few thousand people, he was the 6’ 8” person who towered over everyone there. We then proceeded to get onto our train, wisely riding in the section for the bikes where we could sit on the fold down seats and both of us being tall gentlemen, stretch our legs out. We felt like champions.

We talked about titanicus for the entire two-hour journey and so were rightly excited for the next day. We had a meetup that evening where several of the teams all went to Five Guys and then on to the pub. The pub was a recurring theme across the weekend.

I was bringing the same list I had taken to Board in Brum the month before but with a change in the strat hand, I replaced Sabotage with A Score To Settle. My list was a full Ignatum Regia maniple, I had been satisfied with its performance recently and thought it was suitably tournament ready.

Game 1

We got to pick our opponents for the first game, so seeing Phil, I immediately collared him for a game as I’ve never had the opportunity to fight a Knight Household before.

Phil had an interesting force, a lance of Cerastus with two banners of Lancers and a banner of Atropos. The High King’s banner also had the banner that reduces the first critical hit to a devastating hit. His second lance was made up of Questoris, with a banner of thermal cannons and close combat weapons, a banner with double battle cannon and finally a banner with avenger gatling cannon and close combat. He then had a trio of auxiliary banners, two banners comprising of a single Acastus Asterius each and finally a banner of three Armigers with thermal spears and chain glaives which were outflanking.

Mission-wise I opted to go for Salt the Earth and Engage & Destroy.

Turn 1 I went with a Vox Blackout (this spent all my stratagem points for this game) as I didn’t want Phil getting first fire or full strides off. Movement was a simple case of shuffling to get optimum shots on the banners. Turn 1 saw an Asterius and the Atropos destroyed. Damage was done to the other banners by the Warhounds.

The second turn was Phil full striding the knights, I moved my swarmer hound over to the other flank to make a run for the objective next turn, rolling a double heat for its reactor which lost its shields to the overload in the damage control phase. Phil destroyed my swarmer hound with an Asterius, which I killed in turn with a Warlord. I destroyed the rest of the High King’s lance.

Turn 3 Phil managed to box in one of my Warhounds to prevent it from moving and likely destroy it in the combat phase with massed melee attacks. Fortunately, a First Fire from a conversion beamer cleared the way and he managed to walk out of there and full stride away. The game finished with me mopping up the rest of the knights and my Warhound scoring salt the earth on Turn 5. Phil played a good game; I couldn’t get past his knights to score Salt the Earth. I should have probably gone with a different objective.

I tabled him so I scored full points on my secondary.

Result: Win 20/0

Game 2

This game was against Jari with his Vulturum. He was running an Arcus and Ferrox maniple. Two of the hounds in the Ferrox maniple had storm frag shells meaning they would be at negatives to hit at long range but could maximal fire. The board had quite dense terrain that allowed for easy hiding of Warhounds. Mission-wise I chose Push Forwards and Priority Assignment.

This was a hard game; we played a game of cat and mouse attempting to hide from one another, but his Arcus maniple meant I was nearly always taking fire from his Warbringer. Ironically, his Warbringer tended to miss and scatter enough that my Warhound survived far longer than it should. Ultimately though after several turns of getting shot at and taking damage in every location he was ultimately destroyed. My left flank consisted of my Warlord with C-beamer and swarmer hound plus a tournament hound to push up. My right flank was my brawler Warlord and a tournament hound.

The game opened with me moving up everything bar the backline units with Jari moving his units up hugging cover. The Ignatum wargear enabled me to get accurate shots on his titans. I crippled a couple of Warhounds to no losses. We then had a firefight between my left flank tournament hound, it suffering damage but hanging in. The next turn saw me lose that Warhound but not before it destroyed a hound which inflicted a lot of damage on Jari’s own engines. I destroyed the Ferrox hounds on the right flank. Turn 4 saw me sprint past the reaver that had held back most of the game, into Jari’s deployment zone. On Turn 5 I managed to secure Push Forwards with my Warhound which also destroyed the Warbringer with a plasma salvo into its rear arc. I destroyed a Warhound with my brawler Lord securing me max points on my secondary.

This was a great game, I had a fantastic opponent, an interesting mission and against a Legio I’ve not faced before.

Result: Win 40/6

Game 3

This was an interesting game, I drew Howard from The Imperial Truth and he also had brought a full Regia maniple, but with a twist. Howard’s Regia was an Astorum force featuring two brawler Warlords, two tournament Warhounds and a C-beamer/swarmer hound. I decided to go for Honour thy Forebears and Glory & Honour for my missions for the final round of the day.

Howard’s list was incredibly aggressive with both of his Warlords coming up the board at me. I had placed my long range Warlord on the right flank with a tournament hound in support, this was facing down his Princeps Seniores with both a tournament hound and the C-beamer hound. On my right was the brawler Warlord and a tournament hound. Finally the swarmer hound was in the middle ready to lend support wherever it was needed.

Howard played very aggressively with the centre Warlord being on Full Stride and moving up 16” thanks to Astorum’s trait in Turn 1 whilst the one on my flank had an overcharged cannon. I played Blind Barrage on it so I could mitigate its shooting Turn 1.

Turn 2 I managed to kill the conversion beamer hound which did horrendous damage to the centre warlord as it had a magazine detonation within its shields and in its side arc. This resulted in the warlord being on the end of its body track with two crits. Unfortunately for this turn I’d already finished firing so I couldn’t capitalise on it. On the other flank I inflicted damage on the warlord and Warhound but no kills. My brawler lord took some damage in return.

Showdown!

Turn 3 saw all of the warlords on Emergency Repair, not much else happened. Turn 4 saw me kill a Warhound with a charge from one of mine and killing both enemy Warlords. Howard’s centre Warlord was destroyed and resulted in a catastrophic meltdown. I had two Warhounds caught in the blast and they emerged almost unscathed.

The other flank saw the other Warlord destroyed with gunfire from my Warlord. The final turn saw me fail to destroy Howard’s final Warhound. I also managed to confuse myself as to what Howard’s objective was, I had thought it was Push Forwards and not Hold The Line. I inadvertently gave him extra points by bringing one of my warhounds across the centre line to avoid it being destroyed. The game was a 40-25 win for me. Howard was a fantastic opponent and we laughed continuously throughout the game.

I ultimately gave him my best sportsman vote; his dice betrayed him at almost every possible opportunity and he took everything with good cheer.

Result: Win 40/25

I had three great games of AT and a lot of fun. I was elated to having won all three of my games. Both Jay and Alex had also won all their games too. We were the only team to have won all their games, so we were going into day 2 in the lead. It was a little daunting as we knew Day 2 was going to be an uphill fight and we wouldn’t get a single easy game.

So after Day 1 we were doing OK, obviously Twisted Spear were being particularly efficient and maxing their Tourney Points, but Twisted Sword were also being pretty ruthless when taking their Victory Points!

It was pretty clear that Twisted Sword were out of the running for a Team placing now, but we could at least aim for decent individual placings and continue to avoid getting nilled!

Twisted Spear on the other hand were well in the fight still and were atop the standings after Day 1, so it was all to play for!

No pressure then lads!....
