MEET THE TEAM

Meet the core Team behind Twisted Titanicus

JIM

Hi I'm Jim, principal wrangler of this motley crew of dice rollers and the driving force behind Twisted Titanicus' events.

I've been in the hobby since '97 when I got a copy of 2nd Edition 40K for Christmas, and was off to a fairly inauspicious start, fumbling my way through that ruleset until 3rd Edition hit, before taking the seemingly obligatory hiatus whilst in college and uni.

Fast forward to 2006, a chance visit to a GW, being convinced to part with some money for the then new plastic Eldar War Walker and the rest as they say is history. Along the way I have amassed huge 40K armies, waged void war in Battlefleet Gothic and cheated fate in Malifaux!

Nowadays however, my main hobby focus is on "Epic Scale" games and skirmish gaming. I've been a huge fan of the current iteration of Adeptus Titanicus since it launched back in 2018 and sing its praises loud and proud wherever and whenever I can! I can't wait to get properly stuck into Legions Imperialis as I missed out on the previous iterations of the game in the past, and I'm also looking forward to getting the fleets out of storage and rekindling my love of Battlefleet Gothic in 2024.

I'm active on the event scene and within the wider community, attending events whenever I can (I try to aim to attend at least one event a month, unless we're running one of our own). Some of you also probably know me as one of the Moderators over on the Maximal Fire Discord server.

FRAZER

I'm Frazer.

I’ve been in the hobby since 2018, initially opting for Death Guard in 8th Edition 40k. I quickly gained renown for having the ability to roll a 1 at pivotal moments, regardless of what game I’m playing! As such, Jim has banned me from ever touching any of his dice!

I had my head turned at my local gaming club and gradually became swayed by GW’s Specialist Games systems, firstly by Blood Bowl (Lizardmen), then Necromunda (House Delaque) and then onto Adeptus Titanicus wherein I started my journey into titanic battles amassing and playing as the perfidious traitors, Legio Fureans.  I have since begun a Loyalist Legio and Metalica are my chosen “good guys.”

Going forward throughout 2024 and beyond, I am building an Alpha Legion force for Legions Imperialis and hope to get a few thousand points ready for our inaugural Legions event later in the year.  I'm also aiming to attend as many events as possible with Team Twisted and have the opportunity to get as many rematches as possible in against my absolute favourite Titanicus opponent; the indomitable Jonny Corps from the Battlebling Store! They have been some of the most hilariously brutal and games I’ve ever had to fortune to play!

JAY

Hello I'm Jay: Part-time writer and borderline Titan obsessive.

I enjoy building, modding, painting, playing and writing about Titans in any free time I have.

‘How much is too much?’ is not a question I feel can be applicable to collecting titan miniatures for Adeptus Titanicus and Legions Imperialis. They’ve already been dropped to quarter scale – why would that be if not to allow you to cover every nook and cranny in either them?

I’ve been playing Titanicus for a few years and whilst I wasn’t early to the community, I’ve made up a lot of ground with enthusiasm and a casual disregard to aggravating my long-suffering-wife with almost constant new deliveries.

I have collected and played so many Legios at this point that it’s enough to base an article around and I have every intent of one day having at least a maniple for every published Legio.

I’ve done fairly well for myself on the competitive scene and hope to do better still going into 2024 and beyond – my pet Dachshund Emi is a fairly regular attendee at any event allowing her and she’s notably cuter and more likeable than I ever will be!

ALEX

Hi, I’m Alex.

I got back into the hobby in late 2019 when a friend and I thought we’d get into Killteam.  I instead ended up building a full Crimson Fists force, so that went well. Over time I built up my 40k collection, playing weekly games at our local club. I currently have a number of forces “on the go” across multiple games systems, hampered by my love/hate relationship with painting. I enjoy learning new games and taking the time to understand all the rules and how they interact.

Unfortunately I seem to have some of the worst luck with dice I have ever seen. If you meet me at an event, most likely you will have witnessed this. I normally try to counter this by tailoring my forces to allow me to roll as many dice as I can-they can’t all be ones, right?

One weekend my friend introduced me to AI, and I fell in love with the models at that scale all over again. When I saw the starter box of Adeptus Titanicus, I picked it up as a side project as I was reading some of the Heresy novels at the time.

Around this time Jay popped up in our local group looking for anyone looking to try out the game-after the first few games I was hooked, with it very quickly becoming my favourite rule system to play. Now my Astorum is at a point where one might almost consider them a complete force and I have started an Unremembered Empire force for Legion Imperialis-not bad for a “side” project.

JAKE

I'm Jake, I've been wargaming on and off since I was 11.

My intro to the hobby was 3rd Edition 40k which was my main game for a long time. I have always liked to dabble in new games, Infinity and Malifaux were great and I got really into the games and their universe. I played Halo Fleet Battle for a while before it was discontinued.

In 2021 a friend bought me the Adeptus Titanicus starter set and I haven't really looked back since. now I'm excited to see what Legions Imperialis can do (or maybe I just want to add titans to any game I play?)

SIMON

Hello there, my name is Simon, though some of you might know me as Badger.

I’ve been into wargaming since I was in a child with the obligatory gap in my formative years. Like most, I started off with 40k and Fantasy, plus a bit of the original Necromunda and Warhammer Quest.

My first foray into Epic Scale gaming was with the launch of Epic 40,000 in the dim and distant past of the late 90s. I’ve also played Gorkamorka, Mordheim and Battlefleet Gothic (which is almost as good as AT).

I got back into 40k around 2010 when one of my old Uni friends got back into it and we’d meet up for the odd game using my old Space Marines. I’ve always been fascinated by the lore for 40k and found myself getting drawn into the novels for Horus Heresy and before long I had a Death Guard army and all the Black Books for it.  I now much prefer this setting to that of 40k, but it was 40k that got me into going to events.

Fast forward to 2018 and Adeptus Titanicus was announced and in all honesty, I was very much on the fence about buying into it. I decided to take the chance and bought the Grand Master Edition as several people in my club were buying into it. From my first game I was hooked, and I can honestly attest that it is my favourite game that GW have ever produced.

Unfortunately, most of my club that bought it didn’t stay in the game, but I have since convinced other people to try it out. I started out intending to paint my titans as Ignatum as I adored the 90s artwork of them when I was young, but most of my friends were intending to play loyalist legios, so I decided I should go traitor and therefore chose Mortis which have been my main force up until Oct ‘23 for the first Twisted Titanicus narrative event where I had finally mustered enough Ignatum titans to field full maniples of them.

My focus these days is still AT but I do play several skirmish games such as Necromunda and Aeronautica Imperialis. I aim to paint more Legios for AT and I have a lot of Solar Auxilia to paint for Legions Impeialis. I do have the AI force painted up as Death Guard, so it’s only logical I add some LI units to that force.

I’m quite active on the event scene for AT and try to attend one if I’m able, if you’ve been to one then you’ve likely seen me. I have likely been attending an average of more than one a month, AT has a great community and I’m proud to be a member of it and support it how I can.
